EARTH SCIENCES MARTIN MERE - 12th February 2009
Martin Mere is a conservation centre and also a wildfowl reserve. They have birds from all over the world and help re-introduce species which have died out in their home areas. They also have a few beavers, which you cannot see as they hole up in their lodge during the day. In the wild part, many Whooper Swans and Shelduck are fed by the wardens, and the mere and surrounding wetland is populated by Pink-footed Goose, Redshank, and many other vistors and residents.
